In 2022, we opened our doors to the Design Lab, located in Sarasota, Florida. The Design Lab serves as a service unit and collaboration center for creatives, designers, printers, converters, and machine manufacturers – to provide a better understanding of how to apply and incorporate holographic materials onto paperboard and labels while fostering experimentation, inspiration, and innovation to create new holographic visual effects through the same mediums
The services offered are to the benefit of all printer and prepress departments, including assistance with file set-up, mock-up services, an in-house press available for research and development, testing, and educating for both flexo and digital printing (by way of the CFBU retrofitted digital print head, embellX), as well as the capability to host virtual and live demonstrations.
Jeff Peterson is the Executive Director of the Foil & Specialty Effects Association and Managing Editor of PostPress Magazine, a quarterly publication covering graphic finishing, embellishments, and binding for the print industry. Jeff has 30 years of experience in the foil and embellishment industry and has conducted numerous seminars on the subject for various trade shows and conferences. He is also an accomplished writer, responsible for many technical articles in PostPress as well as in other industry publications.
Mike Weyermann is the Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Landa Digital Printing. Landa Nanographic Printing Presses are digital sheetfed presses that combine the performance of offset with the versatility of digital printing for mainstream commercial, packaging and publishing markets. Â Mike has been in the printing and packaging industry for over 20 years. As many of you, he was born into the world of printing and continued his career as both a converter and supplier of high-end printing equipment.
Kent has over 25 years’ experience with conventional narrow web flexo, and digital label and packaging press solutions. His roles included Business Development, Direct Sales, Marketing, and Sales leadership with such companies as, Xeikon, HP, Domino, Durst and Webtron. Kent’s broad background with conventional and digital label and packaging solutions, helped him develop a deep understanding and knowledge of the industry. Kent studied business at Louisiana State University and received his B.S. degree in business/marketing at Towson University.

As a designer and subsequent Creative Director and designer, Gary's experience has lead him to mastering the levels of file and art manipulation as well as developing and encouraging innovation and visual product development. With over 20 years of experience in prepress and graphic design under his belt, Gary has developed a passion for helping the others with mentoring and coaching artists with developing their own personal style and techniques.
With this passion, Gary is now leading the educational development segment of the Design Lab with students, designers, creatives, and brand owners.
